Workshop Description:


Raising a teenager can sometimes feel like living with a completely different person overnight.

In this talk, parenting coach and licensed counselor Sam Straub will demystify adolescent behavior by explaining what’s actually happening inside the teen brain and why pushback, shutdowns, and arguments are far more predictable than they seem.

Parents will leave with a clearer understanding of why their teen reacts the way they do and why many well-intended parenting strategies suddenly stop working.

This foundational session helps families stop taking teen behavior personally and start responding in ways that reduce conflict and strengthen connection.

Samantha Straub, M.S., LCPC, is a parenting coach, licensed counselor, and founder of Teen Savvy Coaching. A veteran educator and former school counselor.  Sam helps parents of teens and tweens communicate more effectively, reduce household chaos, and raise resilient, emotionally healthy kids. She co-hosts the Parenting Shrink Wrapped podcast and brings humor, compassion, and real-world wisdom to every conversation about parenting through adolescence.
